My 7-year old had been asking me to learn to sew for a while now, so we bought her this book together with her very own sewing supplies basket for her birthday. The "how to sew the stitches" part is super easy to follow and she loved the colour instructions with the cartoon characters which made it fun. She absolutely loved the cute projects and is busy making little cupcake pincushions for all her friends for Xmas, and her brother is even thinking about making some of the crazy alien keychains !Compared to the other books I looked at which were quite old fashioned, this is really high quality colour book and the projects really fun and modern - plus we loved the fact that all the patterns were included too. She's already asked for teh next book in the series for Xmas.....I think we have a super stitcher on our hands now

This book is great fun and perfect to work through with your kids. Mine are aged 9 (girl) and 12 (boy) and though my oldest had a moment of "you want me to sew!" we soon got past that when he realised we could create lots of crazy alien creatures !
My daughter loved the cupcake pincushions - cupcakes are all the thing with her friends at the moment. We all found something to make (I personally loved the hanging love hearts); the instructions were straight forward and step-by-step. The cartoon characters were sweet too and my youngest loved them.
All in, this book great, good value for money and will keep the kids occupied. I loved all the projects; they were practical, fun and pretty - plus, the kids also get to learn how to sew, which is a very good thing! A++++
