I'm a beginer sewer. I just took my first 2 lessons in sewing, and am able to use my machine to make simple things, like pillows. I checked this book out from our library, and looked at the first project. It seems pretty complicated, and I felt like there were some steps missing. It was explaining how to create a simple apron, but the steps didn't all make sense to me. I think this book is more for an intermediate sewer, who knows more of the terminology, and all ready understands basic sewing methods.

This is a wonderful book - it's got everything from simple garment alterations to exciting home dec projects - including some great bed canopies! There are dozens of great projects - most are simple enough for beginning stitchers, but creative and clever enough to engage the interest of the experienced ones, too! I've already selected a few projects to try. This is a foundational book that should be in any machine stitcher's reference library. And I give this book bonus points for its inviting layout and lay-flat, spiral binding!
